Comprising students from grades 9-12, the program offers a comprehensive range of musical opportunities, fostering the development of young musicians and instilling in them a lifelong love of music.
At the heart of the program is the HLHS Concert Band, which provides a foundation for students to develop their musical skills and artistry. Under the guidance of Mr. Ben Hembruch, students refine their technique, expand their repertoire, and explore a diverse range of musical styles. The HLHS Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Mr. Shelby King, and is composed of the program's most advanced musicians, showcasing the highest level of musical achievement. Students in the Wind Ensemble have the opportunity to perform challenging and sophisticated works, developing their musicianship and technical abilities to their fullest potential.
In addition to the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble, the Horn Lake High School Band Program boasts a dynamic and spirited marching band known as the 'Eagle Pride.' Led by a team of dedicated staff and instructors, the marching band performs at football games, parades, and other community events, adding an element of spectacle and excitement to these occasions. The Eagle Pride marching band has consistently earned superior ratings at the MHSAA state evaluation.
